Know the difference
Between love and having faith

BORN OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
A youthful spirit
Does not need to age

WHEN CAUGHT IN TURMOIL
There is always a refuge
Through meditation

A DIVINE REWARD
Is to see yourself Divine
In a Divine world

QUESTIONING GOD'S ORIGIN
Is a fool's errand
Pursued by a fool

"THE IMAGE OF GOD"
Means His Godliness
It is not corporeal

WITH A HIGHER REFERENCE
One can transcend challenges
On the path of life

A HEALTHY OUTLOOK
Is a reflection
Of a peaceful inner state

READING WITH ONE'S MIND
But not for the mind
A most subtle distinction

WHEN FEELING ANXIOUS
Get beyond the state you're in
By thinking of God

LIGHTEN THE SPIRIT
By letting up the pressure
To be the doer

NOT TO BE SIDE TRACKED
By performing rituals
For only their sake

SAYING THE RIGHT THINGS
Is relatively easy
Much more is required

LUMINOUS PEARLS OF WISDOM
Can be discovered
Through meditation

"MAY HIS WILL BE DONE"
Is an invocation
To man not God

THE WORDS OF MASTERS
Help make abstractions
Open to understanding

AS ONE TRIES TO HELP ANOTHER
EACH ONE IS UPLIFTED
MYSTERIOUSLY

FINDING NO RELIEF
Seek another source
Beyond one's own resources

WELCOMING EACH DAY
Is a ritual
To be performed consciously

MAN'S ULTIMATE TRANSCENDENCE
Over suffering
Is through faith in God

CALLING ON ONE'S HEART
TO TAP INTO THE WISDOM
THAT IS ALWAYS THERE

AS THE YEARS PASS BY
One is more conscious
Of one's vulnerability

INNER CHANGE TAKES PLACE
Moment by moment
Recognizing it later

AS ONE GROWS OLDER
One leans toward the mystical
In daily living

THE MYSTICAL WORLD
Is this world
With a different outlook

STEADFAST IN ONE'S WAYS
Not to be overtaken
By daily events

EVER CHECKING WITH A GUIDE
Not to stray too far
As one goes along

HELD FAST BY THE PAST
One needs to break out
To live free in the present

COMMANDS IN ONE'S LIFE
Come not only from outside
But from one's being

A MAN'S HEARTFELT QUEST
Can only be quenched
By relating it to God

ONLY TO ONE'S SELF
Should be one accountable
For one's religion

AS I NEAR MY END
I will ask the record show
Value for others?

THE PURSUIT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Will gain one wisdom
To guide him through life

AS MUCH AS ONE TRIES
Getting out of one's ways
Can't be done alone

SAYING "GOING IT ALONE"
Is self deceiving
It is never so

HANGING ON TO HOPE
When nearing despair
Requires asserting one's faith

ADRIFT IN THE SEA OF LIFE
Without a rudder
Is a hapless sail

TO BE GOD FEARING
Is to restrain one's ego
Not grovel from fear

CHANCE DOES NOT EXPLAIN
The miracle happenings
Which occur trough life

DESPITE THE QUESTIONS
Keeping with my faith
Deeply embedded in me

A PRIVATE MATTER
Not to be discussed
To explain or justify

AS I GO ALONG
Carrying the torch of truth
I light my own way

PREPARING FOR A LONG RUN
Of life's offerings
If I am so graced

AS I ASCEND THE MOUNTAIN
SLIPPING & SLIDING
MY SIGHTS STAY ON HIGH

AIDED BY MY GUIDE
WHO SHOWS ME THE WAY
MY FAITH REMAINS UNDAUNTED

APPROACHING LAND'S END
I AM NOT AT ALL CONCERNED
WITH WHAT LIES AHEAD

HAVING COME THIS FAR
WITH MY TRUST IN GOD
HE WILL BRIDGE THE FURTHER SHORE
